Side effects of incorrect and unsystematic Yogic Practice

Side effect of Incorrect Yoga

Hatha Yoga

प्राणायामेन युक्तेन सर्वरोगक्षयो भवेत् ।
अयुक्ताभ्यासयोगेन सर्वरोगसमुद्गभवः। ॥ २.१६ ॥

When Pranayama and other yogic practices are practiced correctly, they cure all diseases; however, an incorrect practice generates diseases.

Any yogic technique, when carried out correctly and systematically, will increase pranic capacity and eradicate physical body malfunctions, but if the practices are carried out poorly and randomly, more physical disturbances will arise. It is preferable to avoid practicing altogether if it is irregular or inaccurate.

Sickness can happen even if you ignore one basic rule. For instance, whether you are practicing asana, pranayama, or bandha, you should always practice on an empty stomach. After eating, you should never stand on your head to avoid harming your digestive system. You must be extremely attentive when following the guidelines and safety measures for pranayama and the order in which any Hatha Yoga technique is to be performed.

Yoga is the science of the body, mind, and spirit, never forget that. It should never be approached carelessly or haphazardly.

It is dangerous to try and learn it by following instructions from Books/Manuals.

You need the guidance of a yoga teacher who is well-versed in yoga and sensitive enough to understand your unique needs if you want your development to be harmonious.
